Description: This is a transformed and reprojected version of the final Nevada State Assembly District map as submitted to the Nevada State Court and approved in December 2011. Districts are effective January 1, 2012, for the purposes of filing for office and for nominating and electing members, and on November 7, 2012, for all other purposes. All data are maintained by the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau. On December 8, 2011, First Judicial District Court Judge, James T. Russell, issued what is believed to be a final addendum to his October 27, 2011, order setting forth districts for the Nevada State Senate and Assembly and Nevada's Congressional Districts as drawn by the Court’s Special Masters (see Case No. 11 OC 00042 1B, Department No. 1, First Judicial Court in and for Carson City, October 14, 2011). Copies of these maps and the related statistical data were included. This ESRI geodata is compiled from the datasets of the redistricting plans prepared by the Special Masters. Source data are from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2010 decennial census and include the 2010 TIGER files and 2010 population data files. The data delineate the district boundaries. Actual district boundaries are defined as sets of contiguous 2010 U.S. Census Bureau TIGER file blocks and not the line descriptors and attributes. The interior block boundaries have been dissolved to produce polygons representing the district perimeters. The block collections are typically codified by the State Legislature and available as a listing in the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) or in other formats through the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau.
